Could 2017 be the year of horror? By the look of all the films in the horror genre that are set to be released, it certainly looks that way!

Not only original films but also sequels and reboots round out the list of horror films for 2017. And they all look pretty amazing.

Amityville: Awakening

More people are moving into the Amityville house and this time around the unsuspecting occupants are a single mother and her three children. But, one child is comatose, which presents an interesting twist, especially when he suddenly, and surprisingly wakes up!

Andrs Muschietti directs this adaptation of the classic Stephen King novel. Originally it was a mini-series and now this film version hopes to be just as good, if not better.

The Strangers 2

This sequel to the original 2008 film uses the same masked psychopaths as they proceed to do damage to yet another family.

Patient Zero

A global pandemic turns the populace into crazy killers and its up to Game of Thrones actors Natalie Dormer and John Bradley to hunt for Patient Zero!

Death House

The Death House serves as a top-secret prison that holds death-dealers who end up breaking free, while a couple of federal agents end up having to navigate their way through hell!

World War Z 2

Yes, Brad Pitt is back to fight more zombies that somehow must have returned due to perhaps a mutation of sorts, seeing as they defeated the original virus in the first film.

This was a 1977 classic, and for this reboot we have Dakota Johnson and Tilda Swinton in the supernatural and sinister movie set at a European dance academy.

The Dark Tower

This movie stars Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey. This film is based on a series of books by Stephen King. Roland Deschain is the last member of an order called the Gunslingers, he roams the landscape in search of the Dark Tower which holds the promise to save the world.

Annabelle 2

This is a spin-off of the The Conjuring. The original film had a family being haunted by an old doll after they had some satanists break in their house. No details on what the spin-off holds but no doubt more of the same style of terror will take place!

This M. Night Shyamalans film stars James McAvoy and Anna Taylor-Joy. No word on detail, only that Its said to be a thriller with supernatural elements.

Jason Statham stars in this film and his job is to rescue a submarine crew that is stranded at the bottom of the Mariana Trench, but theres a 70 foot marine predator he has to get through first!

Friday the 13th

The only thing known about the latest Friday the 13th is that Prisoners writer Aaron Guzikowski is penning the script which is definitely a good sign.

This surrealistic thriller/horror will be done with lifelike puppets! James Marsters and Robert Englund will provide the voices. A man wakes to find an an explosive device implanted in his neck. The only way for survival is if he commits a number of heinous crimes.

The Chair

Originally a graphic novel, this is about an innocent man put on death row who witnesses the Warden issue sadistic murders of fellow inmates. He finds out how he will have to survive and it is going to mean a lot of brutality!

Yes, its a fourth a fourth Insidious film! Lin Shaye returns as parapsychologist Elisa Rainier.

A Cure for Wellness

A man trying to rescue his boss is all anyone knows for now regarding this film starring Dane DeHaan and Jason Isaacs and directed by Gore Verbinskis who was behind The Ring.

Genetically modified sharks…that can fly! Thats all that needs to be known about this sure-to-be classic film!

I Saw The Devil
