J.K. Rowling recently released a “History of the Quidditch World Cup” on Pottermore. Here’s what you need to know about the real-life version, happening April 5-6.

1. The International Quidditch Association (IQA), sponsors the real-life version of the tournament. It’s exactly like the fictional sport… minus a few exceptions.

4. It’s the biggest event of the year for one of the fastest-growing intercollegiate sports that’s more popular than you might think.

This year’s event will feature 80 of the top teams and there are 300 over real-life quidditch teams around the world.
