America buys 435 million bags of M&Ms a year

Oh yes, this chart is very real. The marketing group IRI, being heroes, decided to count how many standard-size (defined as 3.5 ounces or under but excluding “mini” or “snack-size” candies) chocolate candies were sold in the 52 weeks ending September 8 of this year. The findings aren’t too surprisingly, but it must be said: a country that buys more Almond Joy than Butterfinger has something seriously wrong with it.
