New Glow-In-The-Dark Roads Turn Driving Into A Scene Out Of ‘Tron’ (Video)

Technology is a beautiful thing.

What if we told you one day you could be driving on a glow-in-the-dark road?

If your first thought involves a “Tron”-like atmosphere, then you’re imagining it correctly — because it’s definitely possible!

A while back, we introduced you to Daan Roosegaarde of Studio Roosegaarde, the man said to be developing a glow-in-the-dark road called a smart highway or “glowing lines.”

The project’s description reads:

The first Smart Highway is Glowing Lines which are lines that charge at day-time, and glow at night for eight hours. Here the landscape becomes energy-neutral and a poetic experience.

As of right now, Roosegaarde is in the process of having this concept cleared to be installed internationally. The website reads:

The first pilot of Glowing Lines has been realised at N329 in Oss (NL) and will be further launched international.
